OKTOBERFEST IN TAHOE: BIER, FOOD, & FESTIVITIES

OKTOBERFEST: BIER, FOOD, & FESTIVITIES

Oktoberfest season is here!

While we can’t all make it to Munich, Germany for its legendary celebrations, we’re bringing a taste of Oktoberfest to Tahoe with traditional German beers, food, and festivities on Saturday, September 30th.

The Bier

Beer is the most important part of any Oktoberfest celebration, and this year we brewed three new German styles for the occasion!

Festbier German Pale Lager - 5.0% ABV

German Pilsner and Vienna malts plus German hops give our Festbier a delicious balance of bready malt flavors and a clean hop bite.

Märzen German Amber Lager - 6.2% ABV

Brewed with Weyermann Munich malts, this bier has rich malt and toasted bread notes and finishes crisp.

Exhilarator Doppelbock - 7.8% ABV

Brewed with German malts and snow lagered in bourbon barrels that housed our Sendtaur Imperial Stout last winter. Notes of red apples, holiday spice, and caramel are enhanced by the stout and bourbon character from the barrels, adding flavors of molasses, vanilla, and whiskey.

Try all three beers on tap now at the Brewery and The Libation Lodge. Plus look out for cans of Festbier and Märzen releasing this week ahead of the party!

The Food

Sample a variety of German dishes with our Oktoberfest specials at The Libation Lodge now through October 8th.

Head Chef Kestrel Aguilar developed the menu and wanted to feature dishes that represent German culture while incorporating beer as an ingredient.

“Traditional German dishes represent simplicity and comfort. We wanted to showcase that while drawing on the heritage and incorporating German-style beers in several menu items,” Kestrel said.

Pork Schnitzel & Mash

Panko-crusted pork loin served on a bed of red potato mash, covered in house-made jager sauce, and served with a side of green beans. Served with sauerkraut and lemon.

Spaetzle

House-made traditional German egg noodles, sauteed with butter and onions. Add a bratwurst or beer cheese for a fun twist!

Beer Brat & Fries

Beer braised bratwurst in a pretzel bun, sauerkraut, spicy mustard, and a side of fries.

Currywurst & Fries

Bratwurst braised in our Festbier Lager, grilled and sliced on top of a bed of hand-cut fries. Drizzled in curry ketchup and topped with sauerkraut.

Beet Salad

Mixed greens tossed in our Marlette Sunrise vinaigrette topped with beets, mandarin oranges, goat cheese, pistachios, and slivered red onions.

Big Pretzel & Beer Cheese

Freshly baked soft pretzel from Truckee Sourdough Company with 3 dipping sauces: grainy mustard, honey mustard, and house-made beer cheese featuring Party Laps Pilsner.

Apple Strudel & Ice Cream

House-made apple filling with golden raisins and almonds cooked inside a flaky puff pastry. Served with vanilla ice cream and your choice of caramel or chocolate drizzle.
